Well it was an excellent evening’s fun and entertainment at the annual quiz, held this year at the Peninsula hotel, on a wet and windy Wednesday evening in November. Over 100 Friends and guests took part, in eighteen teams, in what proved to be a hard-fought contest, with rounds including Music, History and Local Knowledge, amongst others.
At the end of the evening the President of the Friends of the Priaulx library, Peter Walpole, presented the winners trophy and prizes of limited edition copies of Guernsey maps, to the well deserving team ‘The Taffs’ who scored an impressive 141 points.
There was a raffle with some great prizes generously donated by local companies and individuals. All-in-all, through the sale of raffle tickets, donations and fund-raising, we raised £845 on the evening, which will be used to benefit the library, through the many projects that are being undertaken.
So thank you to all who took part in the evening, and who continue to support the important work that is being carried out on behalf of our great local facility, and we hope that we will see you all again next year.
Finally we would like to say a big thank you to the Quiz-master, Sean McManus and his team, who generously prepared all of the questions and ran the event in a smooth manner, and who made the evening so enjoyable and fun to take part in.
The sponsors for the raffle were;
Browns Restaurant
Travel Trident
Graham Edwards
Carey Olsen
The Insurance Institute of the Channel Islands
Pelican’s Café
Quay Gallery
Fitzgeralds Photographic Services
Ambassador Hotel
La Nautique
IPS (formerly Island Scan)
